A journey through the world of NFT DeFi with Jamiel Sheikh at NFT.NYC 2021

Okay, hi everyone, my name is jameel. I'm just going to try to figure out this quicker uh, quick little bio by myself. I do several different things. First of all, i run a company called chain house. We do d5 and ai type of projects we've just announced a b2b nfc platform called instrument, and i run a couple different things. I run the largest blockchain community in new york city. We're about 12 000 people. It's called blockchain nyc. I'm, also an adjunct professor at columbia, business school nyu at cuny. I teach graduate level blockchain and ai topics both on the business side and on the technical side. I also run a central bank, digital currency, think tank, and we work with bunch of central banks globally in helping them figure out how they're, going to survive the next 10 years. So what i'm going to talk about is um this path into into d5 and this kind of integration with um nfts and the way i'm going to start, i usually i usually uh - spend four hours. I do a course on this for four hours i'm, trying to condense it into ten minutes um, and i spent a lot of time. Let's. Get this uh clicker working here. I'm, not sure if the clicker is working. Okay, i spent a lot of time. I'm. Currently writing a book for columbia press on d5. She'll, be out by by next year, uh middle of the year, and i wrote a book last year on the quarter, blockchain for o'reilly and i spent a lot of time thinking about tokens right so uh. An enormous amount of time wondering what does it mean for something to be a token and the nature of a token, and a lot of this is fairly obvious to a lot of people. But there's, a lot that we take for granted and i want to pin down certain fundamentals and then talk about how those fundamentals, transition and impact defy right. So i think we all know what defy is it &? # 39 s, not uh? Anything new to anybody uh, but what is that roadmap from nft the world of nft, where we are today into the world of d5? And here i have uh a picture of a token that's, a token up in the screen and the token has we've heard. You know before the idea of fungibility and non-fungibility and the in a quick example is let's say i have two die two die tokens and i convert the two tokens into into a single unit.
